Lake Improvement: Funds Still NeededThe AWSEF constructed a ski lake adjacent to the Hall of Fame & Museum. In 2006 there was 19 events held on Lake Grew. (click here to see photos). Due to the draught the lake was closed in September, 2006, The water was down so low that we found that the bottom was not level and felt it was unsafe to ski in. It was decided to improve the depth of the lake and for the slopes to be restructured. The boat ramp has been completed. Click here for a list of items that are still on our wish list. The boat house is completed and three "Doozie" lifts have been donated and installed by Lewis Fields. One Aluminum Boat Cradle has been installed courtesy of Raymond Hottinger. Gary Elbers, Innovative Marine Technologies, Inc. donated and installed three Touchless Boat Covers. A ramp to the lake accessible for the disabled and a starting dock has been installed. The Judges Tower is complete, including air conditioning. No membership money from the American Water Ski Educational Foundation (AWSEF) and USA Water Ski (USA-WS) is being used to offset the cost of excavating the lake. The lake will be used by the membership, so the AWSEF and USA Water Ski are asking members and friends of both organizations to help raise the money for the pay back of loans and remodeling costs.
