Water Ski
Experience:
| The American
Water Ski Educational Foundation (parent organization of the
Hall of Fame) and the USA Water Ski (national governing body
of water skiing) joined forces to build a new home for the
sport, located on Florida's Interstate 4, only 20 miles West
of Disney World. This exciting new location will include an
expanded, interactive Museum/Hall of Fame, administrative
offices and a ski lake.
The facility offers the sport unlimited
opportunities for growth and exposure. Visitors are able to
plunge into the rich history of this American-born sport and
ride the wake of its growth through vibrant displays and
fast-paced audio-visual productions. A water sports ski lake
will offer visitors the chance to feel the intensity of the
sport -- touch the water, hear the roar of the towboat
engine, see the sun glint and twinkle through a wall of
slalom spray -- leaving them with a keen desire to slice a
glassy lake surface on a slick graphite board. Welcome to
water skiing.

Lake Grew:
As of April 22, 2005,
construction of the lake was complete. With a draught in Central
Florida the water was low enough that it was obvious that remodeling
of Lake Grew became necessary; dug deeper, slopes improved and
erosion mats and wells installed to maintain the level of the lake
at all times.
