ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student at a two (2) or four (4) year state and/or nationally accredited college, incoming sophomore through incoming Senior.
- U.S.A. Citizenship
- Current active member of USA WATER SKI: AWSA-ABC-AKA-WSDA-NSSA-NCWSA-NWSRA-USAWB-USHA
- Award will be made to an undergraduate student and for no more than (3) academic years. Recipients must attend school for the full year during the year of receipt.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- All entries must be typed
- Answer all questions as completely as possible. Indicate the reason for any incomplete answers.
COMPLETED APPLICATION INCLUDES:
- Pages 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7
- Two (2) letters of reference, on the forms enclosed or attached to the Reference forms (page 6 and 7)
- A 500-word essay (no less than 450, no more than 550) on topic:
"Given the recent economic challenges, what enhancements would you make to USA Water Ski's Grass Roots Program?" (Essay must be typed)
- An official transcript of grades. If applicant is a college freshman, include both official college transcripts and official high school transcripts. (Xerox copies and on line electronically transmitted copies will not be accepted)!
- If college allows, applicant should include transcript of grades with the application.
COMPLETED application must be RECEIVED by March 1, preceding the academic year for which the scholarship is requested. NO EXTENSIONS OF THE APPLICATION DEADLINE DATE WILL BE MADE!
PLEASE ENCLOSE A SELF-ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE SO THAT AWSEF CAN NOTIFY YOU THAT YOUR APPLICATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED.
IF THE APPLICATION IS NOT COMPLETE, NO ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE MARCH 1 DEADLINE. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT TO SEE THAT THE COMPLETED APPLICATION, TRANSCRIPTS AND REFERENCES HAVE BEEN RECEIVED BY THE AWSEF SCHOLARSHIP DEPARTMENT BY MARCH 1.
NATIONAL SELECTION COMMITTEE - A National Selection Committee will choose the finalists based on information included with the application.
NOTIFICATION OF SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
- Recipients will be notified no later than the fourth week of July. The
recipient will then provide AWSEF, by letter, with the name of the college,
its address, and the name of the Financial Aid Advisor, to whom the check
will be issued.
